Ergonomic-Keyboard & Alexander-Technique

An ergonomic-keyboard is a keyboard designed to reduce the operator’s fatigue and muscle strain. It is meant to increase the productivity of the typist to their maximum level. That is to say it has been designed scientifically in consideration to human limitations. Our traditional keyboards cause hands, shoulders and neck discomforts. The Ergonomic-keyboard was designed as a solution to these problems and to reduce repetitive motions.

 Alexander Technique

This technique is a very old method which helps you to discover how to release tension in different parts of your body. It guides you to do all your normal physical activities like sitting, lifting, standing, etc without tensing your body. It is not an exercise or a treatment, but it educates you to improve the quality of your life.

For example, some people suffer from a stiff neck, back aches, repetitive strain injury, or Carpel syndrome. With the help of the Alexander-technique you could overcome these problems.

The image below shows the typist sitting in what seems to be in an ergonomic manner.

  • Feet are flat on the floor.
  • Spinal cord is fully supported (especially the lower back).
  • Distance between the screen and the body is at a full arm’s length.
  • The upper level of the screen and the head is almost parallel.
  • Arms and hands in a straight line.
  • Elbows close to the body and shoulders are in a relaxed position.
