Today we are going to learn another five more MS Word keyboard shortcuts Memorizing Ideas. Go  through these five short videos one by one to memorize them.  You may also read a brief description about each keyboard shortcut.

Before you read further, try to understand the relationship between hand and the Ctrl key.

Ctrl + U : Underline Text

You can underline a text in order to express it's importance so that the reader can give special attention to them. 

underlines are widely used in text books and not in webpages. In webpages, bold and italics are widely used to take readers attention and underlines are used for hyperlinks.

How to underline a text in MS Word using Ctrl + U ? Simply select the text and press Ctrl + U. Your text is underlined now !

Ctrl + V : Paste Text

Ctrl + V is the keyboard shortcut for paste text which you already cut. This cut text is saved in clipboard, then you paste it in a suitable place in your document by pressing Ctrl + V. 

The keyboard shortcut for cutting text Ctrl + C and its memorizing idea is already explained before.

Before you watch the following video, please put it in your mind that a piece of text is shown in V shape in the video. 

When you insert the V shaped text in Word , an equal amount of text is extended in the last line. This scene will help you to memorize Ctrl + V very easily.

This is to show when a piece off text is newly inserted in a file, an equal area of text is extended in the last line. This thing you will understand easily once you watch the movie. It's very simple.

Ctrl + W : Closing a File

Ctrl + W is the keyboard shortcut for closing a file in MS WORD or in any other Windows based applications. 

Simply press Ctrl + W while you are in Word. Your file is closed now!

Knowingly or unknowingly there are office files we close in our daily life by pressing Ctrl + W !. Once you watch the following movie you will agree with me with this idea. Have fun !.

Ctrl + X : Cut Text

Ctrl + X is for cutting text. Cutting is removing anything unwanted. You can cut something at some point in WORD and paste it somewhere else in the same file or in a different file. In WORD We do cut a text to paste it somewhere. So in most cases it is a needy text. 

Watch the following movie and see how a text is simply cut with the help of Ctrl + X.

To Cut: Select the text and press Ctrl + X

Ctrl + Y: Go Forward

Ctrl + Y is the keyboard shortcut for GO FORWARD. It is also called REPEAT ACTION shortcut  or REDO ACTION shortcut. Once you do anything in WORD and if you want to repeat the same action, you can simply press Ctrl + Y. This is very helpful as you don't have to do repeatedly the same thing but simply press Ctrl + Y.

Ctrl + Z : Go Backward

Ctrl + Z is called GO BACKWARD keyboard shortcut or UNDO ACTION shortcut. Whatever you did you want to cancel you can use Ctrl + Z. This keyboard combination is very helpful in case you do any mistakes.

Ex: You deleted something accidently and then you realize that you want to undo the action, ( because it was a mistake ) you can simply press Ctrl + Z to cancel the mistake.
